Regional Director, External & Legislative Affairs

LaTara Harris joined AT&T in March 2013 and serves as regional director of external & legislative affairs for AT&T in the Mid Atlantic. Her focus is on local legislative and regulatory affairs in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia. 

Harris joined AT&T after more than ten years with the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education, where she held a variety of senior roles, including director of partnerships and outreach.  Earlier in her career, she was finance manager for a major management-consulting firm and an accountant for a local nonprofit organization.  


Harris is also active in her community. She serves on the board of the District of Columbia’s Workforce Investment Council, the DC Chamber of Commerce, the Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce, and is the Chairman of the Board of Crittenton Services of Greater Washington (an organization that empowers teen girls to overcome obstacles, make positive choices, and achieve their goals through programs in schools throughout the Greater Washington area). She is also an alumna of the Greater Baltimore Committee’s Leadership program (The Leadership-2009).  

Harris has been recognized for her contributions to her community and for her professional success with the following awards:

  • 2015 Maryland Daily Record – Maryland Top 100 Women Award

  • 2014 & 2015 US President Barrack Obama’s Volunteer Service Award

  • 2014 High Tea Society’s – Communi-Tea Service Award 

  • 2010 Maryland Daily Record - “VIP Successful by 40” Award


Harris earned her undergraduate degree from Bowie State University and her MBA from the University of Maryland.
