Better Meetings
Washington, DC
Lee Gimpel is an expert on improving meetings, trainings, and conferences by making them more productive, engaging – and fun. He’s passionate about making meetings not suck. As Director of Development for LifeWise Strategies, he oversaw the training/education company’s products that focused on helping professionals develop better programs, more authentic client connection, and more dynamic classes. There, he worked with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, United Way, and University of Kentucky, as well as numerous banks, community nonprofits, and coaches. A frequent conference presenter, he often speaks on topics related to improving conversation, crafting effective environments, and gamifying content. Previously, he worked in the training/knowledgebase department at Capital One. And, before that, he had a successful career as a business journalist, writing for publications such as Inc., Fast Company, BusinessWeek, and Entrepreneur. At the time, he also served as board chair of a large regional writers’ nonprofit that produces monthly panels as well as a well-regarded conference. He started his career as a software product manager – while traveling the conference circuit during the late dot-com era. His work blends training related to engagement, human-centered design, facilitation and presentation skills, including Liberating Structures, Technology of Participation, stand-up and improv comedy.
